A Comeback to Remember

San Francisco has been the underdog for years and now they are NFC Champions. They were trailing 17-0 in the first half and by the time the first half was over they would only be down 24-14. That is when it got interesting.

The Niners would not allow another point to this explosive offense on the Falcons. The Falcon's Matt Ryan good, but not good enough. He would throw for 312 pass yards and 3 touchdowns 2 of them going to Receiver Julio Jones. Jones was the in game reception leader and the receiving yard leader. He had 8 catches and 148 yards. Roddy White was less than impressive, he would only catch 6 of his 10 passes. Going for 91 and an average of 15.2.

The 49ers offense was balanced in this game. Nobodies numbers were to impressive including Collinn Kaepernick. Collin only had 209 yards of total offense, 21 yards were coming off the run. Micheal Crabtree's appearance in this game didn't play much of a roll in the win of this game. One players appearance was clear, was Vernon Davis who has been quiet all season until now. He would explode 106 receiving yards and an average of 21.2 and a touchdown. Also he only missed one pass thrown to him. There were also 2 San Fran rushing touchdowns 1 from LaMicheal James and 1 from Frank Gore who had only 57 rush yards. The 49ers are packing their bags and heading to New Orleans to play the winner of the Patriots and Ravens game for the Super Bowl.

  1. While I didn't get to see this game, I did listen to the entire game on my drive home from New York yesterday....and it was amazing to listen to...at first it seemed like the Falcons would not be denied, but Kaeppernick and the 49ers were not to be denied.....great reporting!
