Red Sox History is About to be Made- With about 5 more feet.

The Boston Red Sox completely routed the Blue Jays while their own Will Middlebrooks hits three homers and one just shy of the fence. If it had gone over the fence he would be the first Red sock to hit 4 in one game. Jon Lester pitched 7 scoreless innings for a win, and their whole team hit triple of what they have hit in the first 6 games of the season.

The Sox have not played at home yet, until today with a 13-0 win over the Toronto Blue Jays, now that says welcome home louder than anything else, and another plus is that the Sox have just upgraded their record to 4-2 and they are in first place in their AL East.

Middlebrooks who hit 3 homers is only 24 years old, and he is the 26th Red Sock to that many in a single game. He is also the third third baseman to do it and Bill Mueller and Jim Tabor were the only other third base sox to do it.

I think that the Red Sox future this season is not first place, but not quite last either definitely somewhere in the middle.

  1. It's funny that you said the Sox look to get out of the basement and finish somewhere in the middle this year.....it seems this will be the case in many of the divisions.....those who finished at the top for 5 or more years in a row, have grown old, age wise, and those who were in the basement have been able to draft the best prospects who are going to make the most of their opportunity to play in the big league!
