Pitino is Elected to the Hall of Fame

The Louisville Cardinals' head coach, Rick Pitino, has been elected to the 2013 Hall of Fame Class. Pitino won 662 games in his career as a college coach and he hopes to win two more in the NCAA Tournament as they will face the Wichita State Shockers, and if they win they will play Michigan or Syracuse.

This is Pitino's 7th Final Four appearance, and he is the first to take three colleges to the Final Four. John Calipari did this three times as well, but his trips with Massachusetts and Memphis didn't count due to infractions penalties.

The players joining him in the Naismith Hall of Fame this year include, Gary Payton a nine time NBA All-Star, Jerry Tarkanian who coached for UNLV, Guy Lewis a former Houston coach, and Spencer Haywood an Olympic and NBA Star.
