Lackey Re-injures Arm

The once very talented pitcher John Lackey for the Boston Red Sox underwent elbow reconstruction surgery 17 months ago and hasn't played a game of baseball since. He got his first shot in nearly 1 1/2 years and he blew it. He re-injured the same right arm and is now on the DL.

It has been initially recognized as a right bicep strain, the official details of the injury will not be available until after his MRI in Boston on Sunday. The injury occurred today on a 2-2 pitch in Toronto to the Blue Jays' shortstop, Jose Reyes, the pitch was very wild and he immediately clutched the arm in pain.

Trainers and second baseman Dustin Pedroia were immediately at his side. We are all hoping he will be fine and make a full recovery, especially after injuring the arm previously.

  1. You have to feel bad for what Lackey has been through...all the rehab, and so much time lost when a ball players career life span is relatively short...hope it's not as bad as it looked when it happened.....while I'm not a Sox fan, I'm a people fan.....and it doesn'nt hurt that Shane Victorino is now a Soxer!
