Bryce Harper: Breaking Records

The Washington Nationals' 20 year old outfielder, Bryce Harper, has just broke the record for the youngest player to homer twice on opening day. Today he delivered two solo shots in his first two at bats against the Miami Marlins' Ricky Nolasco.

The first home run came in the first inning to right field sailing over the Out of the Park sign. The second bomb was just to the right of the first shot, but in the fourth inning.

The record was formerly held by Don Money going yard twice on April 8th, 1969 for the Philadelphia Phillies.

This will hopefully be the first of many homers for the youngster this year, and maybe leading to the M-V-P, which is what the fans at Nationals Park were chanting when Harper hit the second long ball.

  1. While I admit to being a diehard Phillies fan, the only negative I can think of to say about Brice Harper is that I wish he were a Phillie...he's got the gift and I'm sure he'll be torturing other teams for years to come.
