MLB Draft Predictions

1. Houston Astros: Austin Meadows, OF (Grayson HS, Ga.)
Usually High School Seniors aren't drafted in the first round at all, but this young man is a great exception. He was selected to play for the USA 16U Baseball team. In 8 games for the U.S he hit for a batting average of .537 and had 6 stolen bases. In his junior year at Grayson High School he had a .390 batting average and 19 stolen bases.

2. Chicago Cubs: Sean Manaea, LHP (Indiana State)
This Lefty pitcher has been everywhere and his next stop is Chicago.Where the Under Armor All-American Baseball game will be held. I also think he will be there after the draft.

3. Colorado Rockies: Clint Frazier, OF (Loganville HS, Ga.)
Clint Frazier is particularly fast person as he ran 6.4 second runner in the 60 meter dash. The average is only 6.6 and he beat it. And an odd coincidence is that Frazier is from the same hometown of Loganville, Georgia. He is also graduating in the same class of 2013.

4. Minnesota Twins: Mark Appel, RHP (Stanford)
His slider is his best pitch. It has tight spin and looked very good on occasion. He also has command that has gotten a lot better, but still needs a little work. Still, he has a fastball that can hit 99 miles per hour.

5. Cleveland Indians: Ryne Stanek, RHP (Arkansas)
In Stanek's sophomore year in 2012 he started 17 games and finished the season with an 8-4 record and a 2.82 ERA.

  1. While I'm not one for paying a lot of attention to the MLB draft.....I'm thrilled to see that Baseball is not all that far away.......Phillies pitchers and catchers report on 2/13/13....can't wait for opening day!
