Lakers Top Pistons

The Lakers played the Detroit Pistons without Dwight Howard. The Lakers came out strong though, having a 32-27 lead at the end of the first quarter. This was the type of game where you would not want to leave your seat. The second quarter was all Lakers too, outscoring the Pistons 30-24. This is the Lakers second straight game with over 60 points at halftime. The halftime score would be 62-51. This was also another high scoring game for L.A. The Pistons had a strong second half. The Pistons outscored the Lakers 21-16 in the third quarter. This game became interesting in the second half. The fourth quarter was led by the Pistons, who outscored the Lakers 25-20. Unfortunately, that wasn't enough to beat the Lakers, falling one point shy. The final score was 98-97 Lakers. Pau Gasol led the Lakers with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Earl Clark was tied with the team lead in rebounds with 10 and tacked on 17 points. Of course Steve Nash led the Lakers in assists with 10. He also aded 11 points an 5 rebounds. Kobe Bryant only had 18 points and only 5 assists. Kobe has been closer to 10 assists lately. Greg Monroe led the Pistons in points and rebounds, with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Brandon Knight had 7 assists, a team lead, with 10 points and 5 rebounds. I think the Lakers are also going to win on Tuesday when they play the Brooklyn Nets. The Lakers are now 22-26. If they win more games, they will finally reach the .500 mark. The Detroit Pistons are 18-30. The Lakers are starting to meet the standards that were made in the beginning of the season. By Ameen I.
