Lakers at Nets: Preview

After losing two of their players, the Los Angeles Lakers are visiting the Brooklyn Nets.  Dwight Howard is going to be missing his second straight game with a shoulder injury.  Metta World Peace is out with a one game suspension after throwing a punch in the Lakers Pistons game this weekend.  Kobe Bryant has started to pass more, and that is resulting in more wins for the Lakers.  Kobe is averaging 27.7 points, 5.4 assists, and 5.2 rebounds.  The new Kobe Bryant is helping this Lakers team that is struggling.  Steve Nash averages 11.7 points, but the more impressive thing is 7.8 assists.  He is a great passer when he draws attention.  When he draws attention, he kicks it out to another teammate, who can score.  Pau Gasol has 13.3 points, 8.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks.  His points per game numbers are lower than he has been averaging in his career.  The Brooklyn Nets are having a great season in a new arena.  Deron Williams is averaging 16.8 points and 7.7 assists.  He brings a whole new level to this team and gives his team confidence.  Joe Johnson has been a great addition for the Nets.  He averages 17 points a game.  He has made baskets in crucial points of games.  Johnson is the reason why the Nets have won some of their games.  Finally, Brook Lopez has 18.7 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks per game.  He blocks shots, rebounds, and scores.  He has done a great job this season, that is why he is on the All-Star Team.  I am predicting that the Nets will pull this one out.  My reasoning is, without Howard and World Peace the Lakers will lose their energy.  By Ameen I.
