The Kansas Jayhawks have defeated the UNC Tar Heels in a giant comeback. The Tar Heels had a half time lead of 9 points and it was quickly turned in the other direction. The final score would end up being a lot to a lot less.
The Jayhawks' center, Jeff Withey, had 16 rebounds, every block his team had 5, and 16 points. Travis Releford played good too, Releford had 22 points and 8 rebounds. P.J Hairston was the leader of the Tar Heels, he had 15 points 9 or them off three's, and 9 rebounds. All that added up to the grand reveal of 58-70 Kansas on top of UNC.
Who do you think will win in the sweet sixteen, Kansas or Michigan? I think the Wolverines will win, they have a offense that isn't based around working the ball inside the paint and that is where Kansas is the most dangerous. Post your opinion in the comments box!

The Jayhawks Hold off the Hilltoppers
The Kansas Jayhawks had a few times when they were on the edge of their seats in their round of 64 battle against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. The Hilltoppers only lossed by a score 64-57 and they were kept in the game by Jamal Cook who had 13 points, 4 assists, and 9 rebounds. The Jayhwaks team leaders Ben McLemore and Jeff Withey played very well. Withey had 7 blocks, 17 points, and 6 rebounds, McLemore had 11 points and 6 rebounds.Another game occurred yesterday, the Villanova Wildcats played the UNC Tar Heels. The Tar Heels were all offense with 4 players with 10 or more points, the Wildcats had 4 as well. The Tar Heels had much help from P.J Hairston, Hairston had 23 points and 5 rebounds. JayVaughn Pinkston had the most points and rebounds for 'Nova with 20 points and 8 rebounds. This win was number 700 for the UNC coach Roy Williams, as the final score was 78-71.
Romero Osby had a heck of a game for the Oklahoma Sooners in their 55-70 loss to the San Diego State Aztecs. Osby had 22 points and 8 rebounds for his Sooners, but in the end Jamal Franklin and San Diego States' offense was to much with Franklin scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists.
The Minnesota Golden Gophers won their first round match-up against the UCLA Bruins in a slaughter. The final score was 83-63 Gophers on top. Andre Hollins had 28 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Shabazz Muhammed had 20 points for the Bruins in the loss.
There is still more to come on this fast moving tournament, so stay tuned!

High Scoring OT
The number 6 Kansas Jayhawks were actually trailing the Iowa State Cyclones at many times in the game, but it was always close. Plus, one factor was very shocking Ben McLemore only had 7 points and 4 assists, but Elijah Johnson played his heart out his senior had 39 points! Plus he had 7 assists and 5 rebounds at guard. Jeff Withey came up big as usual with a double double consisting of 10 rebounds and 13 points. The Jayhawks aren't the only team that fought hard in this battle to the finish the Cyclones had 5 players in double figures and the Jayhawks had 4. The biggest scorer was the Cyclones senior guard, Kore Lucious who had 23 points, and Tyrus McGee also a senior guard played like he was the sixth man of the year with 22 points and 5 rebounds off the bench. Iowa State also had plenty of help down low from another senior guard Will Clyburn who had 7 rebounds and 16 points, playing down low with him was Melvin Ejim who had only 4 points, but 7 rebounds to match at forward.
The final score would be a resounding 108 to 96 with Kansas on top. Also, the coach of Kansas Bill Self earned 500 wins. Plus, I would like to hear what you think the AP Poll will rank these teams at! So post your opinion in the comments box.

Upset after Upset: Kansas
The Kansas Jayhawks have been having an awesome season and they are ranked 5 in the AP poll. So how do they fall to the Oklahoma Sooners? Romero Osby for the Sooners got 8 rebounds and 17 points leading all scorers.
The final score would be Jayhawks 66 and the Sooners had 72 points. The Sooners aren't even ranked, but now they might be. Plus, if Osby didn't perform the way he did Steven Pledger would have his back with 6 boards and 15 points. On the Jayhawks side of the court, Ben McLemore would lead his team with 15 points and Travis Releford would lead all performers with 9 boards, but only 8 points. Also, Jeff Withey would have 14 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 steals.
Do you think that the Oklahoma Sooners will be ranked now or will they stay unranked? Post your answer in the comments!

Upset Again
Yet again Kansas has been upset, this time by a team that is almost unheard of in basketball. The team that upset Kansas is TCU. The final score was 62-55. The coach for Kansas said in a press conference that this was one of the worst teams Kansas ever put on the floor. TCU has an overall record of 10-12 and is 1-8 in the Big Ten Conference. This is why this was a major upset, TCU is one of the worst basketball teams in the country. Garlon Green led TCU in points with 20. He added 2 rebounds and 1 assist. Connell Crossland had 8 points, 1 assist, and an outstanding 15 rebounds. Meanwhile Kansas was led by Ben McLemore who had a team ;sad of 15 points to go along with 9 rebounds and 3 assists. After suffering this loss, Kansas is now 19-3 overall. They are 7-2 in the Big Ten after losing to Oklahoma State this weekend. I think Kansas will drop to number 8 after losing to TCU.

New Looks In the Top 25
There is only one word to describe this weekend in college basketball: Wild. Number one Michigan went down to number 3 Indiana in Indiana. Number 2 Kansas lost to unranked Oklahoma State. Number 6 Syracuse fell to unranked Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh. This weekend was wild with college hoops and the Super Bowl. I think the team of the week is Oklahoma State. They came to Kansas and upset Kansas, snapping the Jayhawks 33 game home winning-streak. The obvious thing was that since Michigan lost, Indiana was going to take number one. These upsets are proving that other teams are coming alive and out of the shadows. For a highly ranked team to get upset, I think it is good because they try harder than ever to become number one. The team that upset a high ranked team starts to get too self-confident, so they don't try as hard and lose games. Up next is the list of the teams in the Associated Press Top 25.
1) Indiana
2) Florida
3) Michigan
4) Duke
5) Kansas
6) Gonzaga
7) Arizona8) Miami (FL)
9) Syracuse
10) Ohio State
11) Louisville
12) Michigan State
13) Kansas State
14) Butler
15) New Mexico
16) Creighton
17) Cincinnati
18) Minnesota
19) Oregon
20) Georgetown
21) Missouri
22) Oklahoma State
23) Pittsburgh
24) Marquette

Kansas Upset
Today there were two upsets including this game, Oklahoma State at Kansas. Number 6 Syracuse was upset by Pittsburgh earlier today, and shortly after Kansas was upset too. The Oklahoma State Cowboys snapped the Jayhawks 33-game home winning streak. The Cowboys were leading Kansas at halftime 40-34. This game would be mostly Cowboys. Kansas should have won this game, if they didn't allow this many points. The second half was much closer though. The Jayhawks actually outscored Oklahoma State 46-45. That wasn't enough to hold off the Cowboys, and the Cowboys pulled this game out. The final score was 85-80. Markel Brown led the Cowboys with 28 points and added 4 assists and 2 rebounds. Marcus Smart scored 25 points, led the team in rebounds with 9, and 3 assists. Smart is drawing national headlines, and is helping this Oklahoma State team. Ben LcMore led Kansas with 23 points. He also had 5 rebounds to go along with 1 assist. Jeff Withey had 8 rebounds, a team lead, and 11 points to go along with 1 assist. Kevin Young scored 12 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. I think Kansas would have won this game if they got more players into double figures. My prediction is Kansas will drop out of the top five. Kansas will come on hard after this loss, not wanting to have this feeling again. Oklahoma State is a dangerous team, and is sneaking up and drawing national attention. By Ameen I.
