UPSET ALERT: BRACKET BUSTER

The Syracuse Orange have just busted almost every bracket in the country by beating the Indiana Hoosiers. The Hoosiers lost by 11 points with a final score of 61-50. I have to give a ton of credit to Micheal Carter-Williams, he had 24 points, 4 steals, and 5 rebounds. And as I predicted before if Brandon Triche is shooting the Orange will win, and he was shooting 50% from the field with 14 points. And to everyone's surprise James Southerland only took 3 shots in total, he had 5 points, 3 blocks, 3 steals, and 7 rebounds. Facilitating on all cylinders. Cody Zeller did have a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, but that wasn't enough.

The Marquette Golden Eagles played to see who would play the Syracuse Orange and Marquette took it to the Miami Hurricanes. Especially Jamil Wilson, Davante Gardner, and Vander Blue. All of these players had 14 points, Vander Blue with 14, Gardner with 14, and Jamil Wilson with 16 and 8 rebounds. The Hurricanes' Shane Larkin and Durand Scott did their best to keep them in the game. Scott had 5 assists, 7 rebounds, and 10 points. As for Larkin, he had 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. That would leave the final score to be 71-61 Golden Eagles on top and playing the Orange in the Elite Eight.

The real story of this game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Arizona Wildcats, was LaQuinton Ross, with 17 points and with time expiring he had a 1-1 three point day and decided to put one up and break the tie. He did, leaving 2 seconds on the clock he gave his team a lead of 73-70 over Mark Lyons' Arizona Wildcats. Lyon had 23 points, but it wasn't enough. The assist on that play went to none other than Aaron Craft who had 5 of them. They moved on to the Elite Eight to play either the La Salle Explorers or the Wichita State Shockers.

Carl Hall and his Shockers played the underdog La Salle Explorers and creamed them. Carl Hall had 16 points and 8 rebounds, Malcolm Armstead had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. The explorers best chance at winning was in Ramon Galloway and Jerrell Wright. Galloway had 11 points and 8 rebounds, Wright on the other hand, had 16 points and 5 rebounds. The Shockers will move on to play the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Elite Eight.

Cyclones won't Blow this Town

The Ohio State Buckeyes barely scraped out enough to beat the three point shooting Iowa State Cyclones. The Cyclones had made 12 3 points shots and surprisingly the Buckeyes made 9 threes this game, that all added up to a final score 78-75 Buckeyes on top.

I believe that the reason the Buckeyes won was because Aaron Craft played as well as he did, Craft had 18 points and 6 assists.  DeShaun Thomas had himself quite a game as well with 22 points and 5 rebounds for the Buckeyes. But, the real player this game was Melvin Ejim, Ejim had 11 rebounds and 10 points for the Cyclones. Korie Lucious and Tyrus McGee were the three point shooter though, McGee went 3-5 and Korie Lucious went 5-7 both for the Cyclones.

Who do you think will win the Ohio state Buckeyes or the Arizona Wildcats in the Sweet Sixteen. I think the Buckeyes will win because Aaron Craft will play shut down defense on the main scorer for the Wildcats Mark Lyons, and Thomas and Thompson will be getting points as usual. The Irish's luck Runs Out

The Florida Gators had their first reps last night, they got to play the Northwestern state Demons. The Gators played some of their best basketball with Patric Young and Erik Murphy playing explosively well together. Young had 9 rebounds and 16 points, Murphy had 18 points and 8 rebounds. The final score of the game was 79-47.

The Ohio State Buckeyes played some great basketball against the Iona Gaels, the Buckeyes' elite players Sam Thompson, DeShaun Thomas, and Aaron Craft played very well together in their teams win. Thhomas had 24 points leading all players this game, Sam Thompson was a close second with 20 and a leader in rebounds with 10. Craft had a great game as the facilitator he is, Craft had 7 assists and 6 steals. The Gaels guard Tavon Sledge had 20 points for his Gaels. The final score would end up being Iona 70-Ohio State 95.

The three point shooting teams Notre Dame and Iowa State played on Friday. Notre Dames' whole team was cold except for Jack Cooley and Ton knight both with 14 points. Melvin Ejim a tall forward was guarded by Jack Cooley and he likes the three ball so it lead to Cooley being taken away from the hoop and he couldn't get rebounds. Ejim had 17 points and 8 rebounds that game.

That is the end of the round of 64, the scores from the round of 32 will be out as soon as possible!

Indiana-Ohio State:Preview

Ohio State has lead a descent season with a 21-7 record, Indiana has lead a better season with a record of 25-4. I believe that the Ohio State Buckeyes will come out of the Assembly Hall with a win.I believe this because they have won three straight one of them against Michigan State and Minnesota. Sadly for the Hoosiers, Indiana lost to the Minnesota Golden Gophers recently dropping their number one spot.

If you ask me DeShaun Thomas is the best shooter in the big ten. Thomas has an average of 19.8 points per game and he averages 6.1 rebounds per game. Also, Aaron Craft is a big plus for the Buckeyes, especially on defense where he leads the team in steals with 1.9 and he won the defensive player of the year in the previous season.

The Indiana side of the court has some of the best players in the big ten and NCAA consisting of Cody Zeller, Kevin Ferrell, and Victor Oladipo. Oladipo averages 2.3 steals, 14 points, and 6 rebounds per games. Zeller leads the Hoosiers in three of the biggest categories  blocks, points, and rebounds. He has an average of 16.5 points, 8.1 rebounds, plus he has 1.4 blocks. Ferrell is more of a facilitator with 4.4 steals per game and 2.7 rebounds at point guard.

Ohio State gets Routed

The Ohio State Buckeyes have been having plenty of trouble not relying too much on DeShaun Thomas and that showed today. As Thomas was 1 of only 2 players in double figures for the Buckeyes and he had 18 points. He also was only 8 of 17 from the field. For the Wisconsin Badgers they were sharing the ball perfectly with 4 players with 10 or more points and they had one player with 9.

The Badgers were lead by junior guard, Ben Brust. But Brust does not play like any ordinary guard staying up top and assisting, but he was getting rebounds instead 11 of them and he was throwing down shots to, making 6 field goals for 15 points. Brust did have help though, a lot of it from Jared Berggren who had 4 blocks, 15 points, and 8 rebounds which is about all he can do as a center. Also, Sam Dekker came up big playing 28 minutes and had 13 points with a pair of steals.

On Ohio States side of the court they were dug deeper into hole with every one of Thomas's 9 missed shots. That whole they would not get out of and especially Aaron Craft couldn't he only had 4 points and definitely didn't play like former defensive player of the year with only 1 steal and no blocks. Although Sam Thompson played his heart out in his 28 minutes it wouldn't be enough even though he only missed 2 shots and had 10 points.

Before this game the Badgers were ranked number 20 and the Buckeyes were ranked 13. I want you to predict their rankings. I will say that I believe that the Badgers will move to the top 15 and the Buckeyes will fall to between 20 and 25. What is your opinion? Post in the comments!

Oladipo and Hoosiers Blow Out Buckeyes

On Sunday the Ohio State Buckeyes were expecting at least a close game, they didn't get one. The Indiana Hoosiers were just plain amazing. They had three players with 20 or more points, including Christian Watford, Cody Zeller, and Victor Oladipo.

Oladipo had 26 points and 8 rebouunds and only missed 1 free throw out of 10. Plus, Cody Zeller played awesome with 24 points and 8 rebounds. That doesn't end the list of big scorers for the Hoosiers it continues with Christian Watford who had 20 points 12 of them off three points shots (4 three pointers). Watford also had 6 rebounds. On the Ohio State side the three players actually contributing were, Aaron Craft, DeShaun Thomas, and LaQuinton Ross. Ross had 11 points. On top of that DeShaun Thomas had 26 points and 7 rebounds leading Ohio State in points and tying in rebounds. Also Aaron Craft showed some of his great defense with a steal and 6 defensive boards and he had great offense with 3 assists and 16 points.

I think this could be the first time in a while that the number 1 AP poll team stayed on top of the league. What do you think? Post your answer in the comments!

Weekend Alert

The NCAA has an exciting weekend ahead of them, with two of the top teams in the nation facing off. The (1) Indiana Hoosiers and the (10) Ohio State Buckeyes. The Buckeyes do have some trouble not relying on Deshaun Thomas to much. When they have a great point guard Aaron Craft. Thomas and Craft played exceedingly well against the Michigan Wolverines when Craft had 8 assists and 11 points. While Thomas had 17 points leading Ohio State. The Hoosiers also have a great team with a young guard, Yogi Ferrell who is a great facilitator and he might have some trouble against possibly the best on ball defender in the NCAA, Aaron Craft.

The NCAA also has the (25) Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the (11) Louisville Cardinals. The Cardinals have a point guard Russ Smith who is once again a top player for the Cardinals and he will be a large factor in Louisville's offense. As he averages 18.2 points per game and 2.2 steals per game. Also Peyton Siva has an average of 10.6 points per game and 6.1 assists per game. On the other hand the Fighting Irish have Jack Cooley their leading scorer with 14.8 points per game and Jarian Grant who has 5.6 assists per game to go with 12.7 points per game.

Wolverines Outlast Buckeyes

This was such a good game it made ESPN's Highlight of the Night and I agree with them. It was a hard fought battle to the end when it was back and fourth between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Michigan Wolverines.

The Wolverines had two top performers to me and they both did an excellent job the players include the likes of Trey Burke and Tim Hardaway Jr. Burke had 16 points and 8 assists while Hardaway lead all scrorers with 23 points. Plus Timmy Jr. (Tim Hardaway Jr.) had 6 three pointers made and only took nine three point shots. On the Ohio side of the court Aaron Craft and Deshaun Thomas as Thomas had 17 points and Craft former NCAA Defensive Player of the Year had 3 steals 11 points and 7 rebounds. The final score of the game was Ohio State 74 and Michigan 76.

Do you think that there was a better game last night or was this one the best? Post your answer in the comment box.

Ohio State vs. Michigan Preview

Today the #2 Michigan Wolverines (16-0, 3-0 Big Ten) will travel to Columbus, Ohio to take on #15 Ohio State Buckeyes (12-3, 2-1 Big Ten).  I think this is the game of the day, with 2 amazing scores going at it!

For Michigan, it's all Trey Burke.  The Sophmore PG is from Columbus, Ohio, so his family will probably be watching him from the stands today.  Burke averages 18.2 PPG and 7.3 APG.  He leads his team in both categories.  This kid is an outstanding player, and will sure make an NBA team happy once his college career is over!

For Ohio State, the game changer will most likley be Deshaun Thomas, the junior foward from Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Thomas averages 20.3 PPG and 6.8 RPG.  He's like the next Jared Sullinger!  In the last game against Purdue, Thomas put up 22 points along with 7 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block to help Ohio State ride to a 74-64 win.

I predict that Ohio State will win this game 77-75.  This game will be shown today on CBS at 1:30, so be ready to tune in!
