Bearcats get clawed at the garden

The Cincinnati Bearcats were completely destroyed by the Georgetown Hoyas in Madison Square Garden during the Big East Tournament. Otto Porter had 18 points and 6 rebounds yet again leading the Hoyas to victory.

D'vauntes Smith-Rivera is possibly the best 6th man this year, possibly better than James Southerland of Syracuse off the bench. Smith-Rivera had 13 points and 4 rebounds. Markel Starks had a grand total of 14 points and 3 assists. On the other hand, the Bearcats' leader Sean Kilpatrick was the reason that they lost this game. He only had 4 points on 2-12 shooting. Cashmere Wright steeped up and got 14 points and JaQuan Parker had 12 points.

Do you think that D'vauntes Smtih-Rivera is a better player than Syracuse's James Southerland? I do, because Southerland is a good shooter, but a very unpredictable one, and he likes to take shots that mostly misses. Post your answer in the comments!

Poll Before March Madness

March Madness is only a week away and this is the time for teams to start winning games.  Gonzaga has held on to the number one spot and is drawing even more national spotlight.  Georgetown beat Syracuse, closing an amazing rivalry with a win.  So many teams are impressing people with their ability to win games on the road in important games.  The player of the should be Otto Porter of the Georgetown Hoyas.  He usually scores, but instead he drew double teams and passed the ball off for a wide open shot.  The following is a list of the top 25 teams in the AP Top 25 Poll.

1) Gonzaga
2) Duke
3) Indiana
4) Louisville
5) Georgetown
6) Michigan
7) Kansas

Teams Shining and Falling

The AP Top 25 Poll has just come out.  With Syracuse breaking an NCAA record of on campus attendance at a game with 35,012 and losing to the Georgetown Hoyas.  Miami was upset by Wake Forest and Gonzaga has moved up to the number 2 spot.  Indiana stayed at the number one spot after losing to Illinois and has stayed atop the nation.  Teams have risen and they have sunk while being in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll.  I think the player that should receive the most credit should be Otto Porter of the Georgetown Hoyas.  He is an amazing player, leading Georgetown to many of their wins. The following is a list of the Top 25 teams in the AP Top 25 Poll.

1) Indiana
2) Gonzaga
3) Duke
4) Michigan
5) Miami (FL)
6) Kansas
7) Georgetown
8) Florida
9) Michigan State
10) Louisville

'Cuse fall to Otto Porter

The Syracuse Orange played hard, but definitely not hard enough as they came up short by 11 points to the eleventh ranked Georgetown Hoyas. The blame doesn't all go to Syracuse though some of it must go to Otto Porter Jr. the forward for the Hoyas who had 33 points and 8 rebounds. He also added 5 steals to his part of the box score.

For the 'Cuse they had almost no help from senior guard Brandon Triche who had made only 4 of his 13 shots, even though he had 10 points. But as usual C.J Fair a freshman played amazing with 7 rebounds and 13 points. Plus James Southerland who has been starting his games on the bench came out and played for 13 points.

I would like to say that you can't win a basketball game by yourself, but Otto Porter Jr. did he was the only player in double figures with 33 points except for Moses Ayagba who had 10 rebounds. If you ask me the Syracuse Orange played their worst at the free throw line shooting 66.7% as a team and the Hoyas had an excellent day at the line with a percent of 85.7.

Matchup Saturday

There's a lot of great college basketball games this week! The first one is #8 Minnesota taking on #5 Indiana in Indiana. Cody Zeller leads Indiana in points and rebounds with 16.5 PPG and 7.9 RPG. Austin Hollins leads Minnesota in points and assists with 13.7 PPG and 3.7 APG. My prediction is that Minnesota will come up top in a close game with the final score being 75-69. This game will be shown on the Big Ten Network at 12:00 PM tomorrow. The #1 Duke Blue Devils could possibly be deafeted by #20 NC State in North Carolina. Miles Plumlee leads Duke in points and rebounds with 17.7 PPG and 11.4 RPG. C.J. Leslie leads NC State in points with 15.6 PPG. My prediction is that Duke will win 78-67. This game will be shown on ESPN at 12:00 PM tomorrow, so be ready to tune in! #19 Georgetown Hoyas will be taking on the St. John's Red Storm at Masidon Squre Garden. Otto Porter leads G'Town in points and rebounds with with 12.8 PPG with 7.2 RPG. D'Angelo Harrison leads St. John's in points with 21.5 PPG. I think St. John's will pull of the upset with a 64-56 victory. You can watch this game at 11:00 PM on ESPN2!
