Yu Darvish struck out 14 and Adrian Beltre hit an RBI single with two outs in the ninth inning as the Texas Rangers beat Boston 4-3 Sunday, completing a three-game sweep and matching the Red Sox for the best record in the majors.
The ninth inning went a like this it led with a 2 out single by Elvis Andrus off of Clayton Mortensen then, Adrian Beltre lined a steaming shot to right-center field and scored Andrus. Lance Berkman was walked intentionally and then the final out was recorded.
Darvish did not get a win or a loss as he came out of the game in the fourth inning with a tied score. The Rangers closer Joe Nathan shut down the Red Sox and got the save.
