UPSET ALERT: BRACKET BUSTER

The Syracuse Orange have just busted almost every bracket in the country by beating the Indiana Hoosiers. The Hoosiers lost by 11 points with a final score of 61-50. I have to give a ton of credit to Micheal Carter-Williams, he had 24 points, 4 steals, and 5 rebounds. And as I predicted before if Brandon Triche is shooting the Orange will win, and he was shooting 50% from the field with 14 points. And to everyone's surprise James Southerland only took 3 shots in total, he had 5 points, 3 blocks, 3 steals, and 7 rebounds. Facilitating on all cylinders. Cody Zeller did have a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, but that wasn't enough.

The Marquette Golden Eagles played to see who would play the Syracuse Orange and Marquette took it to the Miami Hurricanes. Especially Jamil Wilson, Davante Gardner, and Vander Blue. All of these players had 14 points, Vander Blue with 14, Gardner with 14, and Jamil Wilson with 16 and 8 rebounds. The Hurricanes' Shane Larkin and Durand Scott did their best to keep them in the game. Scott had 5 assists, 7 rebounds, and 10 points. As for Larkin, he had 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. That would leave the final score to be 71-61 Golden Eagles on top and playing the Orange in the Elite Eight.

The real story of this game between the Ohio State Buckeyes and the Arizona Wildcats, was LaQuinton Ross, with 17 points and with time expiring he had a 1-1 three point day and decided to put one up and break the tie. He did, leaving 2 seconds on the clock he gave his team a lead of 73-70 over Mark Lyons' Arizona Wildcats. Lyon had 23 points, but it wasn't enough. The assist on that play went to none other than Aaron Craft who had 5 of them. They moved on to the Elite Eight to play either the La Salle Explorers or the Wichita State Shockers.

Carl Hall and his Shockers played the underdog La Salle Explorers and creamed them. Carl Hall had 16 points and 8 rebounds, Malcolm Armstead had 18 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. The explorers best chance at winning was in Ramon Galloway and Jerrell Wright. Galloway had 11 points and 8 rebounds, Wright on the other hand, had 16 points and 5 rebounds. The Shockers will move on to play the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Elite Eight.

Birds Will Meet

The Oregon Ducks have survived past the Oklahoma Sooners and non the Saint Louis Billikens. The Ducks have a challenging obstacle ahead of them though, the Louisville Cardinals. Can they do it?

The Billikens and Ducks game is what I would like to discuss. Arsalan Kazemi and Damyean Dotson carried the Ducks on their shoulders.  Kazemi with 16 rebounds and 8 points, and Dotson with 23 points. For the Billikens their leader Dwayne Evans played well, but not well enough. Evans had 16 points and 9 rebounds, Kwamain Mitchel did what he could to help out with 18 points for the Billikens. It would en with Oregon on top 57-74.

In other news, the the Arizona Wildcats speed by the Harvard Crimson with a run of 30-9 to close it out. Mark Lyons had more help than anybody in this Arizona win, Lyons had 27 points and Solomon Hill had quite a say with 10 rebounds and 13 points for the Wildcats. The Crimsons' truly best player was Kenyatta Smith, Smith had 10 points and 5 rebounds being the only player in double digits for the Crimson, in the loss of 51-74.

More March Madness news will be out as soon as possible!

Player Watch

The NCAA is full of spontaneous athletes, especially in Men's College Basketball.  The underrated player in Men's basketball is Shabazz Muhammad.  He is an excellent player who has all of the fundamentals of basketball that a coach likes and needs.  He led the UCLA Bruins to beat Arizona about a week ago.  In fact, he is averaging 18.1 points, 5 rebounds, and 0.1 blocks per game.  Muhammad runs the court quickly for fast breaks, making it easy for transition all-oops.  Against Arizona, he had pink eye but still played and had a dominant performance.  Shabazz Muhammad would make a great fit on an NBA team.  Most coaches would also like that he has a very quick release.  This way, he can slow down and save energy while draining a three.  If he gets a sudden pass and a defender is collapsing on him, then he can just shoot.  He deserves more credit, because he is making a team that wasn't heard of this year into a team starting to shine.

A Wildcat Ride

The Arizona wildcats are ranked number 4 in the nation. They have an unbeaten record of 16-0. Then the unranked Oregon Ducks deliver a shock, this shock was lead by none other than E.J Singler. Singler had a 14 point game while putting up a 7 rebound show. He also had 7 assists to match those 7 rebounds. One player didn't do much on the stat sheet, but made an amazing play was Jonathon Lloyd. Lloyd stole the ball on the last possession for Arizona keeping the game 69-66. The only reason that Arizona was even in this game until the end was, Mark Lyons. Lyons lead all scorers with 21 points, but it wasn't enough as his Wildcats fell short of the Ducks in a 66-69 loss. by david b.ESPN.com

Upset Alert?

At the end of halftime Colorado leads #3 Arizona 34-27. Could an upset be on the brink?

Xavier Johnson leads Colorado in points 12. At one point Colorado lead 24-10. Will Colorado hold on to the lead, or will Arizona put together a comeback? Post what you think in the comments!
