Big East Thriller

A classic rivalry took place; Louisville at Notre Dame.  Most of their recent meetings have gone into overtime, but this game was even more special.  Five overtimes.  With a low-scoring game, the halftime score would be 27-24 Notre Dame.  The Fighting Irish were really fighting for this win.  Louisville came out hot in the second half.  The Cardinals forced turnovers early in the second half, including a great steal leading to a dunk plus the foul.  The second half was all Louisville, until the last :50 seconds.  The reason being was Jerian Grant.  He scored 12 points in a span of about :50 seconds.  Grant had three three-pointers and a layup, plus a foul.  Jerian had a total of 19 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds.  He didn't score until the last minute.  Grant did foul out, but the Irish kept on fighting.  In fact, Notre Dame linebacker, Manti Te'o, was at the game, and was spotted when Louisville was coming out of he tunnel for the second half.  Pat Connaughton led the Irish in rebounding and assists.  he had a total of 16 points, 7 assists, and 14 rebounds; a double-double.  The reason the Irish won this game was Garrick Sherman.  He had the tip-in in the fourth overtime to send the game into the fifth overtime.  Scoring 20 points to go along with 6 rebounds, Sherman is going to be a great part of Notre Dame.  Jack Cooley had a total of 11 points, 1 assists, and 11 rebounds.  Again, another double-double.  Chane Behanan led Louisville in points and rebounds, with 30 points, 15 rebounds, and 1 assist.  Gorgui Dieng had a team lead 5 assists to go along with 17 points and 13 boards.  Russ Smith took most of Louisville's last shots, but none of his shots fell in.  He had a total of 21 points, 3 assists, and 10 rebounds.  The final score would be 104-101 Notre Dame in a thriller.  One of the referees was a referee for two games in one day.  He was a referee in the Depaul and Marquette game.  The referee drove three hours to South Bend, Indiana.  The referee that was supposed to be there was caught up in the snowstorm affecting all of the Northeast.  This game was the longest in Big East history in the regular-season.  The longest ever in Big East history was in the Big East Tournament in Madison Square Garden.  The matchup was Syracuse and Uconn in the semifinals of the Big East Tournament.  It went into six overtimes, with Syracuse on top.  The Irish have been golden all year long.  The following picture is Garrick Sherman in an interview with ESPN about his late tip-in.

BCS National Championship: Preview

Notre Dame has had an incredible undefeated season. They overcome hard tasks such as beating the number 6 ranked Stanford Cardinals. The Cardinals put up a great fight only losing 20-13 in OT, but Notre Dame fought just as hard until the end pulling off the win.

Notre Dame has the best defense in the whole division 1. Teams against the Fighting Irish average only 10.3 points per game, this is number 1. This defense also only allows 286 yards of total offense per game. One example of how great this defense is looking at Manti Te'o's stat sheet. Interceptions-7, Sacks-4, but one thing that isn't on the stat sheet is that he has heart. He inspires his team, he's like Ray Lewis in the locker room and in the huddle. Manti Te'o has proved what he can do in the huddle by inspiring this Notre Dame team to win games. In fact he lead them to win, ALL of them.

Then, there is this amazing offense the Alabama Crimson Tide. Lead by quarterback, AJ McCarron, he has the second highest QBR with 173.1. He is only behind Geogia's Aaron Murray. Now, McCarron has to have some good wide reciever to throw to. That is where Amari Cooper comes in he has 895 yards this season on only 53 receptions. Giving him an average of 16.9 yards a catch!

Predict the score in the comments!

Top 5 Prospects

The Kansas City Chiefs get the first pick in the draft I believe that their best bet will be the getting a new quarterback. I think they should pick the athletic Geno Smith. He lead West Virginia to the Pinstripe Bowl, but lost to Ryan Nassib and the Syracuse Orange. Smith has 4201 passing yards and is third in division one completions with 366. I believe he is a clear pick for this team.

Jacksonville is the second team to get their pick and I think they will take Phillip Thomas a senior out of Fresno State. Fans of Jacksonville want a quarterback, but they need a franchise player and this is him. He leads the NCAA in interceptions with 8 and has 4 sacks as a defensive back. His best game was against Colorado when he had 3 interceptions returning 2 for touchdowns. Coming off those interceptions he had 59 yards.

The Oakland Raiders should make the smart move of getting Star Lotulelei a defensive tackle out of Utah. The Raiders defensive line has grown poor. He could add something to get this line off the ground. According to CBS sports he is the number 1 defensive tackle.

The Eagles get the fourth pick of the draft and the weakest part of their team is their offensive line. They have the lowest ranked offensive line in he NFL. That is why the number 1 ranked Offensive Tackle in the NCAA , Luke Joeckel would boost this team to wins.

The Detroit Lions get the fifth pick, and their defense gets stomped on. So Manti Te'o who leads line backers in interceptions with 7 would fit for this team. Manti Te'o was also the runner up for the Heisman trophy. Manti also has 101 tackles and fans love him. That is something else that Detroit needs, fans, because fans means money.
