One of the Oldest are Lost

The Olympics have been hosting wrestling as long as any other sport. The only sport that is older in the Olympics is the 200 meter dash. Wrestling has been around so long the Ancient Athenians of Ancient Greece used to teach it. Now the IOC executive board has voted to get rid of wrestling from the 2020 summer Olympics.

So many people are getting aggravated about this it is almost unbelievable that they would vote against it. For example, even wide receiver Roddy White is riled up, because he is a two time state champion himself in the sport. Also, the governor of Iowa now has a press conference on Friday to discuss his thoughts on the topic, plus the 1972 gold medalist Dan Gable will be joining him. The governor Terry Branstad is starting a campaign to keep the sport in the Olympics.

In the first year the Olympics came back from Ancient times in 1896 Athens wrestling was one of the sports, so why get rid of one of the oldest sports in history of the Olympics. It is also one of the most non expensive sports. Do you think that the IOC board did the right thing to get rid of wrestling? I definitely do not! I want to see what you have to say though, so post your opinion in the comments below!

Heat vs. Lakers

Last night LeBron James was the youngest player to reach 20,000 points at age 28.  2012 was a golden year for him because he won an NBA Championship game(his first in his career), NBA Finals MVP, and he won a gold medal at the Olympics.  Kobe Bryant was on the same Olympic team to win another Olympic gold medal.  This was his last Olympics with Coach K of Duke.  Tonight the Miami Heat are going to go to visit the Los Angeles Lakers as part of their six game road trip.  Now LeBron James averages 26 buckets a game, 8.1 boards a game, and 6.9 dishes a game.  Last night in an interview James was asked with record was he most proud of:  20,000 points in your career or 5,000 assists in your career?  LeBron said he was more proud of 5,000 assists in his career because he enjoys it when all of his teammates are involved in the game too.  Dwayne Wade averages 19.9 points a game, 4.4 assists per game, and 4.7 boards a game.  Finally, Chris Bosh averages 17.8 points per game, snatches 7.1 rebounds per game, and 1.4 blocks per a game.  That is why the Heat won a championship last year, the Big Three.  Dwayne Wade, Chris Bosh, and LeBron James.

However, the Lakers are led by Kobe Bryant.  Bryant averages 29.9 points a game, 4.8 assists per game, and 4.9 rebounds a game.  The two new additions of the Lakers, Dwight Howard and Steve Nash, have been out for part of the season and it has hurt them a lot.  In fact, it hurt them so much that they have a record of 17-21.  This week Dwight Howard is coming off of a shoulder injury and is averaging 17.8 buckets per game, 12.6 boards a game, and 2.6 blocks a game.  Howard has helped the Lakers when he was in though.  The second addition, Steve Nash, averages 10.5 points per a game and a resounding 8.9 assists per game.  Steve Nash was out early in the season with a fibula injury and that hurt the Lakers too.  Right now, Pau Gasol is out with a concussion.  He averaged 12 points a game for them and he brought long range shooting and rebounding.  This game will be on at 10:30 EST on TNT.  LeBron James might steal the show away from he Lakers in Los Angeles though.  By Ameen I.
