Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers seem to be the only team to be staying healthy in the NBA.  The Clippers are known for "Lob City," which is an ally-oop pass from chris paul and then a dunk by Blake Griffin. Blake Griffin is known for his dunking ability as well as his jumping ability.  He is constantly maliciously  dunking the ball over colossal defenders.  Chris Paul is very fast and can take advantage of that by weaving through defenders on a fast-break.  When franchise players get traded onto a same team, it usually takes a couple of years for them to really start working together better; not with these guys.  Once Blake Griffin came off of his injury and Chris Paul was traded, they were doing ally-oops all the time!  The player that has helped the Clippers this year is DeAndre Jordan.  He is a big man who snatches down rebounds.  After grabbing the rebound he can either use his body strength to score, or kick it out to Chris Paul for a wide open jump shot.  The Clippers have done a great job of collecting players and making sure they work will together quickly.

Ibaka Fined 25K

The Oklahoma City Thunder's, Serge Ibaka, has surprisingly not been suspended after hitting Blake Griffin in the groin area. Griffin was so surprised he said this.

"From what I heard, I guess he's saying he was just trying to get his hand away from mine," Griffin said. "I actually didn't have his hand. He had my arm, so I don't know how it's going to be interpreted. It is surprising , but it is a big game tonight and I don't think they want one of their .. I really don't know. It's a big game.

I personally think that Griffin is correct and that Ibaka should be suspended. Even though he was fined 25 thousand dollars, but Ibaka should pay that and miss at least 3 games. Behavior like this is happening too often and it has to be put to a stop.

Do you think he should be suspended. My answer is clearly stated and I want to know yours, post in the comments!

Heat Way over Lob City

On Friday night there was a game that was so far apart it was never even a game. The Heat would end the game up 111-89. It was clear why though, LeBron James got hot. He had 30 points and 6 assists.

Dwayne Wade didn't come short of anything he had 7 assists with 20 points to match it. Wade also had 4 steals and his teammate Mario Chalmers had 18 points and 3 steals. For the Clippers DeAndre Jordan played as best he could with 17 points and 6 rebounds, but with Chris Paul and Blake Griffin not fully recovered they could only contribute so much. Blake had 13 points and 5 rebounds. Chris Paul was very limited though. He had only 3 points in 20 minutes. Even Chauncey Billups played better than Paul and he played only 16 minutes, for 7 points and 4 assists. So with Paul and Billups not having much playing time Jaamal Crawford and Eric Bledsoe would. Crawford had 13 points and 3 assists, while Bledsoe had 7 points and 6 assists.

I think if the Clippers were healthy they would have won this game. What do you think? Post your opinion in the comments.

Blowout

For what was supposed to be one of the best match ups of the year, ended up being one of the most embarrassing losses for the Clippers this season.  The Miami Heat would steam roll the Los Angeles Clippers with a final score of 111-89.  Despite the return of Chris Paul, the Clippers couldn't convert.  Although, Miami made a total of 15 three pointers in this game.  LeBron James led the Heat with 30 points and added 6 assists.  James was 9-11 shooting, including a three point shot plus a foul; a four point play.  Chris Bosh and Ray Allen weren't playing because they were sick, and Dwayne Wade played through the virus.  Dwayne Wade led the Heat with 7 assists to go along with 20 points.  Rashard Lewis led the Heat in rebounds with 7 and added 10 points.  In the middle of the game, a ball went into the stands.  LeBron James wanted the fan to pass the ball back, so he did.  Surprisingly, James through it back to the fan to make a crisper pass to him.  The fan did and James gave the ball to the referee, but James wasn't called for a delay of game.  The fan wanted to keep the basketball like a baseball, but he gave it back.  Anyways, DeAndre Jordan led the Heat with 17 points to go along with 6 rebounds.  He has done a great job of scoring.  Ryan Hollins had 5 points and a team lead 8 rebounds.  Eric Bledsoe led the Clippers in assists with 6 and added 7 points.  If he scores more, I think he can lead the Clippers to many more wins.  Blake Griffin didn't have a great night.  He only had 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists.  Finally, Chris Paul scored 3 points,2 assists, and 1 rebound.  For both Blake Griffin and Chris Paul this was an ugly game.  Both teams play again on Sunday.  The Clippers have to step up their game, or they won't have a good rest of the season.  Miami is doing a great job of scoring without Chris Bosh and Ray Allen.

Star Matchup

Tonight, arguably two of the best teams are playing; the Miami Heat and Los Angeles Clippers.  These teams have had great additions in the past few years, including players worthy of an MVP Award.  The Clippers have struggled to stay healthy, including Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and Chauncey Billups.  This team can't win games if they don't have Chris Paul.  Paul's time out has taken a blow to this team, and they fail to score or win without him.  Meanwhile, the Heat are anything except that.  They've hardly had any problems this season.  They have managed to stay healthy, score, and pass the ball around.  The Big Three has done a good job in keeping this team in tact.  They have very high chances in making it to the NBA Finals.  LeBron James has had two monster seasons with many awards and accomplishments.  This season he is averaging 26.8 points, 7 assists, and 8.2 rebounds.  He is a player who can do everything; score, pass, and rebound.  Dwayne Wade has been connecting with LeBron James lately, a result of their many wins.  He averages 20.9 points and 4.6 rebounds.  Wade is listed as a game-time decision.  The other player who is listed as a game-time decision is Chris Bosh.  He has 17.5 points,7.1 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks per game.  The Big Three brings a whole new dimension to this team which other teams been so successful with.  Los Angeles is famous for " Lob City."  Blake Griffin is the receiving end of Lob City, and averages 18.5 points to go along with 8.6 rebounds.  He is listed as questionable for tonights game, proof that this Clippers team isn't staying healthy.  Chris Paul is averaging 16.6 points and a resounding 9.7 assists a game.  He is a main source of their offense, and if he's out, the Clippers won't win many games.  Finally, a big improvement is DeAndre Jordan.  He is the big man who is keeping this team in order.  DeAndre Jordan has 9 points,7.3 rebounds, and 1.4 blocks per game.  He does a great job of rebounding.  If he is trapped, he can kick it out to a teammate and they can score.  I am predicting that the Heat will come out on top.  My reasoning is the Clippers have too many injured players.  Whereas, the Heat don't have that problem, and they have players who can score off the bench.  This game will be on ESPN at 8:00 PM EST.

Lob City Injury

The Los Angeles Clippers have had a tough challenge playing with three out of the four best players on the team. With Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, and Chauncy Billups all out with injuries against the struggling Orlando Magic. Yet the Clippers still pulled off the win against the Magic to send them their eleventh straight loss. The Clippers will be getting their team back in Miami on Friday. They will be very lucky if they can have all of their players fully healthy by Friday. The month of February has not been a good one for the Clippers and they need it to speed up if they want to stay in it in the West, because this year the West has some good records.

Struggling Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers are on a losing-streak.  This is without Chris Paul.  Blake Griffin did not play last night against the Washington Wizards with an injury.  The Clippers lost to the Wizards last night with a final score of 98-90.  This isn't good news for the Clippers, though.  It proves that when they don't have their star players they can't win.  Paul and Griffin are big parts of this Clippers team.  After having the longest win-streak in the NBA this season, the Clippers haven't been the same.  I think the reasoning is they got got too self-confident, and started losing games.  They haven't adjusted to this yet. If they change this, I truly believe they will be the team to beat in the playoffs.  They need to step up their play to win games.
